I am considering turning my tank into a exodon/planted tank. I have kept exodons before and they were my favorite fish to keep. I was planning on having about 20 in my tank with various plants. I was wondering what I should put in my back chambers. I would obviously run carbon but is there anything else I need? I think this would make an awesome planted tank.

How many could I put in there? I think a shoal of 12 would look good? Other than carbon what should I put in the back chambers of my aquapod? What substrate is best for plant? I was looking for a dark sandy bottom.

I have already ordered the plants and ADA substrate for this tank. I am going to run pot scrubbies in my sump for filtration. I think I am going to start off with 15 exodons.

From what I have read on here, that is way too many for a 10g. I am sure someone will tell you why and give a better answer shortly.

I have kept them before. The more the better is the general rule when keeping these fish. Since I have a sump I should be able to keep my water quality up.

15 is not to many, I could put more in there if I wanted to.

Bioload isn't the only issue- it's not fair on the fish to put that many in that much of a confined space.

Agreed. And if you get too few of them they will start canabalizing each other
