I think I'm going to go against a huge fish for this project.
The goal is waste produced per gal of water basically(within reason I don't want a fish farm as listed below). Having plecos and scavengers in the tank is also essential. Also having a temp of 22-24c/70-75f and a acidic pH (as low as 5.8 -6 would be ideal) Snakeheads are ideal for this as they like 18-22c/6pH I believe I will go with an Amazon theme with oscars, catfish, plecos, and black water extract, or I'll find a setup more tailored to my needs.
I'll need to figure it out a person I know who did a system like me appearently had African Cichlids(not sure how many) which like a 7.1 ph and temps of ~85f under the conditions listed above along with oscars(12+), misc plecos, some loaches, silver dollars, knifefish, and many snails, crayfish, crabs, lobsters all crammed into a 90gal tank which could have 1/3 of it's water removed at any given time to fill the loop.
I've not yet decided how tightly I want them packed in, I'll either use a 180, 220, or 280 gal tank for this project and definately want a fairly large mass of fish I most definately want scavengers and plecos in the tank too so top predator monsters aren't really an option. I'm going to be leaving for six weeks on vacation (This thursday till end of August) so I'll have a while to think about this.
Cheers
