Making some progress on my 90g setup. Looks like I'm going to have a spare 30g. Just wanted to share.

what's the stocking plan? i doubt you're coming back to the piranha game so it must be marine?

well it was going to be marine, but when i started building the sump with my father in law, we broke the body of the skimmer. I contacted the company that made them and they said they would sell me another body (out of warranty) 88$ plus shipping. I have a kid on the way (due in august) and when you factor that in with the price of stock, live rock, salt, powerheads etc it was just prohibitive for this point in time. I've had a lot of set backs getting this thing setup. it's been almost two years since I bought the tank. I think part of that is that my heart was never really set on marine to begin with. It's interesting, but as soon as I started looking at freshwater stock again I got re-obsessed.

I'm planning on doing cichlids. Not sure which ones yet, but defintely new world. Right now leaning towards a SA community tank with fancy severums, or maybe some geophagus sp. trapajos, or a pair of GT's or CA cichlids (A. lyonsi most likely). I've also considered doing a single male trimac but I'm not sure about a one fish tank. I've also considered discus or altums.

I'm open to suggestions if anybody has any.
