I am looking to expand my library of aquarium books. I have most of the catalogue type books already, including catfish, loaches, african and new world cichlids.

I am looking for something potentially fun to read; not necessarily helping me with my tank. For instance, even though it is horribly out dated(imagine arows in 55 gallon tanks), Confessions of a Fish Doctor is a nice amusing read.

Look for a copy of the old Innes Book. I had one the copyrite said 1933. I sold it at a comic convention a few years ago for $4oo. Dr. William Innes was an ityologist and wrote a serious of books in the 30's. The book was revised over the years and I think the last printing was in the 70's.

It is an awesome book, I have a 1944 edition and another from the sixties. You are off by a couple years, though - first printing was in 1935.

Don't know if this is the new world book you meant, but although the names have been changed, this book contains interesting evolutionary theories, great pics, location, and dietary info.

I've kicked myself for letting go of books I got back in the 60's, during a long 'out of hobby' dry spell.
:duh:
They were like treasure chests, so carefully written about different species. the pages were like adventures.
