I realized on friday that when I woke up my discus were all breathing on top of the water, frantically I checked in my wet dry to see the temp and out of the corner of my eye I see a AA battery with the top corroded and residue......... By Sunday all 6 of my beautiful discus died. Don't ask me how the battery ended up in there, but my question is, how many water changes must I do to ensure I got all the battery acid out of my water so that I can try and buy new fish? I've already done 3 complete water changes........ Anyone have any advice for a very sad aquarist?

I would just continue for over a week of constant w/c's and then test with a few dithers aka expendable fish.
X2 Or, you can completely empty it, clean it, and restart your nitrogen cycle with seeded media if you have some.
