Hello guys,

It has been a long time since last I posted here. I hope I am in the right forum. My question is can I use the white mortar cement for fisht tank decoration? You know the white cement that is use to whole tiles in the counter top of your kitchen? Can I use it to make caves and stuff? Will it desolve? Will it kill my crawfish pet? Thanks

I think it would be ok if you soaked it for a long time...like a month, changing the water daily.
The cement could leach elements into the water that could alter the PH and increase the hardness....but for crayfish, that could be a good thing.
Just test it out.
I would like to see the creation you make using that mortar. Keep us posted.

Thanks boltogether. I am just worried that the mortar will melt once in the water and make the water white. Is the mortar the same case as sheetrock?

if it says aquarium safe, then use it..........I like to not really put a lot of chemicals into my fish tank........
