Wondering if anyone has some useful tips or suggestions on getting the best aquarium photos possible. I know there are some general ones like limiting flash or covering any windows/lights in the room (aside from the tank) that cause a reflection.

Looking for more detailed info like shutter speed, aperture, and the tank lights (colors and brightness) that some of you have had success with. I am having a tough time getting the picture quality and sharpness as high as I normally do. I posted a photo below for reference but this underwater thing seems to be a whole new ballgame. Also has anyone had success with a GoPro in the actual tank?

I have had some luck with camera flash (freezes motion) but do not shoot straight at the glass; shoot at an angle so the light does not hit the back of the tank and return to the camera.

I've usually had best results shooting in macro mode with the camera up against the glass. Flash on, fast shutter speed and narrow aperture. You still get a lot of out of focus pics that way but less motion blur at least. And they're darker pics, but you can lighten them up later.
