Are there any tank cleaning fish available at most pet stores that are suitable for a 10 gallon tank?

usually plecostomus lol but i got some yo yo loaches and they seem to be staying pretty small i dont know how big they get but they seem to be growing really slow

That all depends on your definition of cleaning your tank. If your looking for some small algae eaters, you can use amano shrimps, oto cats, golden algae eaters/loaches for bottom cleaning of uneaten foods, you can have cory cats, pictus maybe... but no fish will keep your water levels clean thats your jobs and responsibility as a fish keeper.

Also, honestly, by adding more fish to "Clean" your tank, your basically adding more work for you to CLEAN at the end of the day... since lets not forget, any living being in our tanks produce some amount waste...

Very good advice by dr_sudz and Fat Homer...and if your thinking about getting a pleco, I would suggest getting either a clown pleco or a bristlenose pleco because they only get about 3-4". Many of the other pleco species get over 8" and some can even grow to be 2 ft.

^ thanks clownknife...

also to the OP, pleco's are notorious poop machines... so you might want to keep that in mind if you decide to get one... i know the one in my tank probably causes more problems than solves..

As in yes, it does help with algae, but the amount of poo it leaves it ridiculous...

i would just suck it up and clean the tank your self.
but if you really want a cleaning fish there are a few cool and small plecos or loaches

a 10 gal. tank is too small for any pleco. for algae maybe a few oto's. I had one bn pleco in my 120 gal. tank. he grew to 5" and produced more crap than all my other fish combined.

Unless you need a scavenger to pick up wasted foods etc. Certain wasted foods like fortified freeze dried shrimp produce tons of waste quick if no eaten and once something touches the bottom of my tank my p-bass and arrow won't touch it.
