Hi, I was looking at aquariums from a small private shop the other day. He’s selling a 70 gallon 48x18x18 glass aquarium, plastic framed, made from entirely 1/4” (6mm) non tempered float glass.

My question is, is 1/4” non tempered glass strong enough for the floating bottom? I’ve always seen bottom panels tempered or of greater thickness.

Thanks.

That’s a standard 75 gallon I think, which leads me to believe it’s made by a common manufacturer, I’m guessing it’s ok, as long as the condition is good
did you tak any pics?
