a long time ago i went into a lfs and i found these lil beta bowls with this coloured stuff on the bottom.. i picked up the package and it was lil tiny dryed grains (what ever colour u wanted) the idea of it was u put it in water and it grows into a bunch of jelly chunks that ur beta "likes to play in" it said safe for fish and i bought it and had it with my beta for a long time.. he did seem to enjoy it... it was like jello but for fish tanks
i have a new aquarium. and i still have the jelly stuff stored away i duno if i trust it with other fish. though it looks very cool im not sure if anything besides the betas would like it. it was probably more than a year ago and ive moved away from that lfs, or ide go back and check. has anyone else heard of this stuff? i dont have the package anymore and i cant seem to find it anywhere. :nilly:

am i the only one whos seen this stuff?

i imagine it would be a pain during gravel vacs and cleanups..

I think it was called "Crystal Earth" not sure....

It was also use for plants, instead of dirt. it was marketed as "non-toxic" not sure what ever happened to it, I wouldn't use it myself.

so im not insane this stuff does exist!! :nilly:
yea i remember reading it could go in plants.. maybe ill find some other use for it. ^^
