ive purchased a 210gallon that has a wooden lid with lights but in order to keep it indoors and keep the humidity it will bring i have to make some sort of lid? To anyone who has done this which would be the easiest/ cheapest way of doing so.
I need to make about 4 sheets i would say about 10-15by 24 inches.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

Can get plexi at home depot cheap, however it will bow unless you get the thicker stuff. Just check with your Lfs and see if they can order so me glass tops, depends on type of tank also, if its a standard glass 210 checkout glass cages.com I think they sell them

yea i heard plexi bows.

took the liberty of taking a picture

I used 1/4 acrylic and braced w 1 in acrylic bars and it still bowed! dont bother. you can get glass cut at lowes or home depot it is fairly inexpensive or build a would canopy

For just one tank that size I do not see a humidity problem.

I would suggest glass - I have been fitting with warping plexi on my 210g. The big box hardware stores sell pre cut glass sheets that would work out nicely. Much cheaper than plexi or acrylic too.

The tank has a wooden canopy over top of it but it being in the basement my parents want it cover for humidity reasons.
glass seems to be the way to go i already have 2 sheets of glass if u can tell in the picture. the only thing is i will have to find a way to cut the glass in an awkward way for the end near the garage door.
