Aquarium Lighting Fader

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What most people do to achieve that effect is have a few led lights on another timer go on a little before the main light.Flourecents and dimmers dont mix.

heres what i do....

i have all the blinds in the rooms with tanks in a position where they let in some natural sunlight. the sun comes up, the room brightens up a little bit and about 3 hours after sunrise the timer on the aquarium turns the lights on. about 2 hours before sunset, the timer turns the light off, sun goes down and fishies get a dark tank.. sometimes i leave a nightlight on for them too by fading the ceiling light.

if your tanks are in a room with no windows put the lamp or whatever lights you have in there on a timer, works just as well.

if you use the timer with the room light idea, you dont need to have that light on all day, just have it shut off after the aquarium lights come on, and turn back on before the aquarium lights shut off, and then turn off for the night a little while after that.
