I am thinking of doing aquarium maintenance part time for some extra cash. I am wondering if anybody here does aquarium maintenance and what they usually do.

I am thinking algae scrubbing, water change (50%?) with thorough gravel vacuuming and cleaning the filter pads. People pay around two dollars per gallon in my area and I am wondering if that is all that they do, or am I missing anything?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Aquarium maintenance is not an easy buck. Don't do 50% WC, or you will risk killing customer fish. Offer water testing and basic balancing, but it depends on your level of knowledge. You definitely need to be up on your basic knowledge and trouble shooting, or your customers will be one time deals, and not repeats.

I aggree with Wyldfya, get a little more experiance under your belt before you try out your business idea. I would hate to see you try it and not have a good change to be successful.
