Hey guys, I wanted to start this thread to use math (of course paired with bio?) to help me and the community when planning an aquarium.

So I'm wondering...are there mathematical formulas out there in order to determine specific stuffs? Hehe...i just feel comfortable when there is math...

Here are some examples:

Aquarium gallon = (L x W x H)/231

Heater watts requirement = Tank gallon x 5 watts

Number of goldfish per gallon = 1 inch per gallon (goldfish=Russian rollete treat)

Time for me to save up for a 200 gallon= 200 days of instant ramen dinners

Please feel free to add more...or correct me :D

200 days of Ramen dinners = :yuck: :barf::barf::barf:= :rip:rip:rip

Decent enough math but..... We do have a calculator that does the gallons.. Along with TONs of other stuff.

The heater thing is a nice rule of thumb.

Inch per gallong has a sticky.

and you should have the shrimp or orential. Good stuff.
