I recently began a piece of software to help with designing an aquarium. You can put in the dimensions and it will generate the weight of the tank, the volume of water (gallons/liters) and the weight per square foot. It is cross-standard functional as well, so you can put in Imperial/Standard measurements and get out Metric of vice versa.
It is presently freeware and a work in progress. I will eventually put in a number of features, however the basics work.
You can download it from my website www.acrylictank.us
It will run on Windows, and should run on Mac. It relies on the .Net library so that needs to be up to date.
Here is a screenshot of the app and it should be self-explanatory. If it's not, please let me know.
The next two features I will be adding are:
- A way to calculate the top of the aquarium
- A measurement for water depth, which is normally not the same as the tank height.
