I read on another forum that GE Silicone I was aquariumn friendly but on the back it says not to use for aquariums. It DOES NOT have the mildewcides that the GE II's have. I got a clear drying window & door tube and a white drying kitchen and bath tube. Both for $3.87. The guy at home depot also told me that the GE I's were discontinued and that they have moved on to the GE II's.

and if anybody wanted to know.. I was going to use the silicone to glue some sand and rocks to some large PVC to make some caves for my fish.

Am I safe to use either of these tubes or should I take them back and order something online? I don't know if I can wait.. I have been in DIY mode lately.

I'm pretty sure I'm good with the "blue tube" of window & door silicone.

yes you are but im not shure about the white, but the clear ge1 is good to go!
home depot now carries the DAP brand, which i am unsure of.

yeah their silicone wall was stocked with DAP and a few boxes of GE were floating around but about 75% of them were GE II's with meldewcides which are BAD.

I would stay away from bathroom and kitchen silicone, as these are more likely to contain the moldicide. Window and doors are usually your best bet.

GE window and doors I or II will work as long as it doesn't have mildewcides in them. Some GE II have it added and some do not, the same goes for GE I. Stay away from kitchens and bath.

I'm a idiot and tried doing it with wet sand and rocks, thats all I have to say right now.
