Can anyone tell me if this product is aquarium safe:

It is intended for use in terrariums but if it can be safely submerged, I can think of multiple applications in the fully aquatic habitat..

I don't beleive it is, I think this is the same item I was looking to put in my daughters tank for her Firebelly toads.

I have seen these stuff in Archer Fish setups, hanging above the water line....This setup allowed crickets to freely walk on it like a natural jungle tight rope....And the Archers would do their thing with them, spitting and eating(pretty awsome)....But I would not put that in my tank water....Never seen or heard of it being used in the matter you are thinking....Nice idea though:headbang2....

Call the manufacturer, I can't make it out from the picture.

It's Exo Terra which I believe is made by Hagen. I'm pretty sure it says on packaging that not for use in aquariums. I looked on the website but couldn't find the info.

We use it our snakes enclosure, but I'm not sure about underwater, never thought to try it.
It's flexible, but I think that flexible is from some kind of metal. I also think it is impregnated with an anti bacterial agent.

I was thinking that too...The anti-bacterial agent is definatley something you would need to ask on....Plus, the metal inside would be another thing to mention about....

I wish a lot of the terrarium stuff was aquarium safe. A lot of it would look great submereged. Unfortunately, with few exceptions, none of it is.

What if I coated it with a layer of silicone? Would that make it aquarium safe? What about flexibility: will silicone make it less flexible?

BTW, I researched this product some more, and yes, it is a metal wire covered by a cork like outter shell
