I am not sure if this is in the right place or not but here goes!
My parents used this wood for an outdoor ornamental set up thingy.
My mom says she thinks it's from Home Sence or Home Outfitters or something like that.
I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of wood it is and whether or not it is aquarium safe.
It feels dry and I can't see any sap or anything on it.

It SHOULD be.

I do not know of any wood that is harmful after it is fully CURED. Once it has dried out and became sort of pertrified there isn't really much left to harm anything.

But the only way to know for SURE is to test it out on a 10 cent feeder goldfish or guppie. Just place a peice of it in a bucket of treated water for a day or 2. Then add a feeder/fish and if it last for 48hrs i would call it fine.

We can guess all day, but only a test will show the truth.

As thin as those are, I imagine they'd rot pretty quickly. Also you'd have to be sure that the supplier hasn't treated them with any kind of preservatives or dyes. I would say skip it and buy something that you know is safe.

I suppose what you don't know is if the wood has ever been exposed to chemicals or not . . . especially if it was intended for outdoor use

I don't think I'd use it . . .
