Aquarium salt and loaches?

I know for medication your are supposed to use half for loaches, but what about aquarium salt? do you do full dose or half?

I used half doses of salt and increased tank temp to 86F when treating for ich. Didnt lose any loaches and got rid of the ich. What are you dosing for? Is this just a general salt addition or are you treating for something?
