Does anyone add salt to there freshwater stingray tanks? I know salt is good for other freshwater fish but does it go well with rays? I have read Ross's book on keeping rays and it talks about salt but it really doesn't say either way. I usually add 1 tbsp per 10 gallon with my other fish but have stopped since I put rays in my tank. Any one have an opinion on this matter?

yes... salt is good :) most of us use it to medicate as well, since rays normally dont take chemicals very well, just make sure when u add the salt you put it in a bowl and let it disolve into water before putting it in the tank... rays can burn themselves from the salt, but it is good

Matter of ray keepers opinion. I also add salt but theres also a theory that salt is not needed given that the waters that they are from tend to be super clean given the heavy rainfall of their origins.

i use salt in my ray tank...
