I have always been using aquarium salt in all my fish tanks but at a very small concentration, about 1 tpsp per 25 gallons. I have started to bring the concentration in my community and SA community tanks to 1 TPSP per 10 gallons of water and I have noticed much happier and more productive fish, my platies and guppies are just spitting out babies all over the place more so than before, 2 convicts have dropped eggs (one batch got fertilized) and finally 2 of my oscars have been lip locking and vibrating (good signs). Now I was wondering if I should increase the concentration in my stingray/discus/arrowana tank to make them more healthy or make them feel more at home.

Thanks for your help,

Eric

i feel ya, i move to washigton in a year tho when i get out of the military so i can keep rays then

Okay so keep the low concentration as a happy median to everyones opinions on salt in ray tanks?

My GT's happier when I salt it's tank, my other tanks, I can do W/O. I guess it depends on certain factors, how they were raised, tank bred or wild caught & yes, agree w/ DavidW, constant use does reduce it's effectiveness
