i want to add aquarium salt to my 60 gallon fish tank, my fish scratched but i wanna add salt and raise the temp to make sure i dont lose them. this will be my first time adding salt so if someone could tell me the best way to add the salt. i was told to add 1.6 lbs but i dont know how to put it in my tank. should i put all the salt in a container and holes in the lid and put it in the tank? or let the salt dissolve first, if someone could help me that would be great
thanks.

1 tablespoon per 5 gallons. Regular NON-IODIZED table salt will work fine as will Morton solar salt at lowes or Home Depot for $5 for 40lbs. Salt helps with osmoregulation and certain parasites. The benefites will hottly be debated forever however so Im not saying anymore.:)
