Hi everyone, my 33 Gallon is now established and the Piranhas are in, thank you all for your advice. They were a little skittish for the first 24 hours but now they're swimming around and seem to enjoy their new home better than the ol' 10 gallon. :woot: I have another question for you guys. A friend of mine told me I should add some aquarium salt to my tank to help heal fish and something else I can't remember, do you think that's a good idea?

 -Nick

Make sure if you do add salt, you use only the NONIODIZED SALT....you can get this at the grocery store really cheep, or you can use the salt you find at the LFS, try DR.WELLFISH AQUARIUM SALT by AQUARIUM PHARMECUTICALS....That is a really great salt! I use it in my freshwater tanks!

just click on the first one, thats the salt...and take a look!

Hope this helps!

Just for tank maintainance you might go with a little less, I never had problems but I heard that piranha are a little salt sensitive, don't relly know but you might try 4 tblsp in your tank instead of 6

Piranhas are known to be 'OUSTANDING HEALERS'!!!

I won't worry about it.... they will heal in a very short time. Just keep up with the water changes and all around tank maintenance.

i use noniodize salt in all of my tanks.....i use about 1 teaspoon per 10gs when i do my weekly waterchanges....make sure u mix it up really well before u add it to ur tank....it keeps my p's really healthy
