I think i have a parasite infecting my tank they are small threadlike and free swimming.will adding salt harm my bristlenose?

Keep the dosage very low, and rely on temperature.

Sounds like you have whiteworms in the tank. If that's the case, they are harmless. Excellent pleco food but an indicator of poor water quality. Use a gravel vac for your water changes and up the number of water changes as well.

more water changes? im doing 30 %a week now with a phython could these have come from some feeder shrimp i purchased at lfs?filtration is being done by 2 emperor 400's tank is a 55

hmmm, 30% weekly sounds ok. Are you on a well or city water? Whiteworms aren't as likely to be found in city tap because of the chloramines.

im on city water im going to do a large water change and cut way back on feedings.
