My silicone looks a bit weird and not uniform in my 20 gallon long tank. Its kind of weird, it seems like it is receeding in areas or just disappearing. Ive attached some photos, the tank is only 1 year old. Let me know what you think....

That can be caused by a number of things. Yours looks like either the tank was shifted and/or the glass wasn't clean when they sealed it. The silicone looking whitish like that is an indication of a bad seal job. Was the tank resealed at some point?
That is a brand new tank. Bought it from Petco one year ago. What do you mean shifted? It has never been resealed.
can someone just tell me if this is something i shuold be worrying about right now? or a couple years down the road???
doesnt look like it will leak anytime soon... no point in fixing though. just buy a new 20gallon--its cheaper.
I don't think its a problem at all. most tanks that I have seen with clear silicone look like that after a year or so.
its just a bit of the excess silicone wearing I guess. the actual seal is between the glass and it looks solid in those shots.
that tank should last your 15 more years at least.
