If your using aquarium soil which also softens water and lowers ph and you had a HMA set up on a drip exchange and the water coming out of your tap is say 7.5 plus do you think you would get constant ph fluctuations or would it stay pretty balanced

It should balance out, for instance say when you're doing a water change to the tank the "new" water will mix with the old water in the tank, and any peat, soil, etc... will bring it back down to a steady ph.
