Been wanting to change my Barebottom look for a while now, and I feel that my Endli and all fish in general would enjoy it better. Specially the arowana hates seeing all the lights from equipment under the tank. She freaks out fast, she's still on that pre-maturing stage where they get more relaxed.

natural small river rocks or tan silica sand/pool filter sand sold at hardware store. I love the look of the tan silica pool filter sand, looks so natural to me, but am just worried that my 12600 GPH circulation pumps are going to blow the living crap put of the sand .

I don't have near the circulation power you do but the tanks I have PFS in barely move it around, and if theres a big surge and sand does get pushed around it settles right back down in seconds. I am an advocate of sand bottom with scattered rocks throughout, gives it a much more natural feel in my opinion.

PFS will get blown away if the flow is directed right at the sand. Combine your pfs with those large rocks you already have in the tank and aim the direct flow at pile of rocks to dissipate the current.

Pfs generally has a larger grain size and is heavier in my experience than normal aqu sand so you should be right.

One thing to consider with your bichirs...the pfs may make them look very washed out. My upper jaws look fine on it but i have a lap that looks really pale...may do the same to the endli

Where do you guys buy your pfs?
edit: Never mind, I see hardware store, Home Depot?
