I picked up a tank that was used for reptiles; the plastic on the top is melted from a heat lamp and needs to be repaired. Does anyone know what type of plastic they use for these? I'm thinking of gluing a reinforcement to it and want to use the correct adhesive.

I thought of cutting the trims off of the top and bottom and flipping them but I think this might be extremely difficult working on a 180

I believe they are polystyrene and I was advised to use weld-on #16 with an acrylic patch.
