Does anyone have "Zen" time when dealing with their aquariums? I know for me, after a stressful day, I can come home, sit on my floor, and do maintence on my planted tank. I'll throw on some nice Lounge music, grab my scisscors, and trim my plants, look for runners, dose ferts if I see fit, and just be totally relaxed for an hour or two. I'm very very meticulous with my plants, so there's been times where it took me 3 hours to trim a couple bunches of Saggitaria Subulata, and then take out the cut peices, and move a couple runners around. Plus, my water is pretty much perfect for Cyanobacteria, so I've often spent hours upon hours carefully pulling off layers of slime with a pair of tweezers. It's at the point where I'm in my aquarium so much that my fish don't even bother. I can hand-feed my SHRIMP in my planted tank, if that gives you any idea of how much my hands are in it. So, does anyone else consider their aquarium time like a little "Zen" period?

lol, whenever I am stressed, I aquascape my tanks, do water changes, scrub the glass, and make it look brand new. I feel even better than the fish after cleaning my tanks. And then I sit down in front of it and watch my fish be fish. Man, I love fish

After a stressful day, I usually chill in front of my tank and play with my fish, by putting my hands in and swirling them around. I've dozed off several times in front of them.

basically every night, i lay down on my bed and look at my fish tank 3 feet away until i get real drowsy, reach over and turn off the light, and knock out.

even when i am not stressed, i like sitting in front of my tanks and just watch the fish be fish. it is so relaxing

I do for sure. For me, it's at night after the tank lights are off and I'm feeding my banjo cats. They just pop up out of nowhere and zoom around for a good hour. It's so relaxing watching them, that I put off going to bed.

I sit and study for classes in front of them. Our university also has a little koi pond and a few different aquariums in the biology building that I go and watch during a break between classes if I'm stressed. Something about a good Tim horton's mocha and fish that relaxes a guy.

I usually will sit in front of my tanks after a long day and just feed them and watch them smack the food like a bag of bricks. I will sit there and watch for an hour or so and shut the lights go off to bed. Sometimes I will trim and neaten everything in the tank up. Or I will do complete filter maintenance just for the fun of it. I love staring at my equipment in the tanks to make sure everything is working in excellent order and then watch them rip all the heaters off the sides and take the filter intakes and outputs off. It's annoying but funny at the same time because they don't like the equipment as much as I do lol.
