5ft tank. Painted background black and black gravel to brjng out colors. Im not satisfied with my setup i want a more natural look. Any ideas this is what im workin with. Also CA/SA cichlid tank

I have a piece of driftsood but cant come up with a good way to keep it pinned down to bottom. Thanks!
 
Nice sized Raphael you have there. :)

I actually like the look of floating wood so I would go ahead and add it. Once it becomes waterlogged you can place it where you want. I think those platforms with the square items (what are those?) on them take away from the natural look so maybe remove those. Instead of having those plants smack dab in the middle, move them off to one side a bit. Add a grouping of large river rocks and place the plants around the rocks and maybe another grouping on the other side leaving the middle a bit open.
 
They are bricks with slate to make caves but i agree. More driftwood more river rocks i like it. Ya that raph is a good 9 inches!
 
^ you should look around online for aquascape ideas in google... you'd be surprised what sort of scapes are out there you can grab inspiration from...
