I want to build my own cave network in my 55 any ideas what make it out of? I don't want to use real rocks I was thinking of Styrofoam so I can mold it exactly how I want but how do I make it not float and what to coat/paint to use?

If you want to make interconnected caves you could use pvc tubes.

I don't think I could, just an idea that popped into my head. But I think you could then make a cover for it out of foam, cement, or ready made 3D backgrounds

Someone had a thread on here where they had worked PVC pipe to look like a natural hollow log. It can be heated and shaped then painted.

Cut PVC pipe the long way. Then cover it with silicon and your subrtate. You can then place it or silicon it to the bottom of the tank.
