I have these two firemouths, size 1-2.5" inches, they live in their 20g long tank just for now till they grow a little bit bigger.

Anyway my question to you guys is how should I decorate it???I can honestly say that i suck at decorating my tanks! My 55g looks horrible, reason why is because all you see is PVC pipes as caves..It looks nasty.....I need advice from someone who has good taste in decorations for my fish tank.

I have tried different things but i just do not like the look of it........
I want my tank to look like there is a lot going on....i was even considering adding like 12 river rocks...

Please give me something to work with!

Thank you very much for your time.

BUMP Is there anybody that can help me out?????

Patience dude, 2 bumps within the hour may get you a warning from a mod lol. I'm not sure about the 20, but I think I may have seen pics of your 55 with the pvc. I would suggest driftwood and slate in that tank. Slate propped up with a smaller rock will def look better but still provide a place for your fish to hide/spawn in.

I go to the local plant nursery and landscaping place. Find one and tell them you want to look at their decortive rock. They will have slate much cheaper than the LFS. Some of them have holy rock, some have creek stones. Just buy a bunch of stuff and play with it. I did my 120 for twenty bucks and it looks pretty good.

I would suggest checking out www.aquariumdriftwood.com I got all of my wood for my 150G there(dont trust their center piece gallon sizes, they arnt really large enough for the size tanks they say IMO). I have 3 of the Xlarge center pieces and several of the large assorted kits in there. To me...its not aquascaping if your using PVC and other such things. Get yourself some driftwood, and some rock with some plants(fakes are looking better and better now days). I agree with the previous post on getting rock from places other than your LFS. My LFS wants 10bucks a lb for most of their rock...screw that. Also www.thatfishplace.com sells some pretty nice looking wood, I have some of their driftwood that doesnt come on a base, and it looks really nice I think :)

I've got the Mississippi river to get my drift wood from. I just boil it before I put it in my tanks.

could i use wood from my yard..?
