You know what really irritates me. It's when theres a fish store in a garden centre and the non fishkeepers go in and look at fish and ask stupid questions and get in the way while your trying to have a look. And when they go Oh look at that big fish when they point to a 3inch platty.
And teh other day i saw a 4inch gold severum for £35 and sombody was buying it. There was nothing speacical about it. They know that people are that gulable they will pay the earth for a fish which should be like 5 time cheaper. There was a shop 5 minutes away that was selling 4inch sevs for £6 or a trio for £15.
Does anybody else feel the same as me or am i all alone. . I mean make way for a 'TRUE' Monster Fish keeper.

It's all about making money.... if they will sell, good for them...it's up to US to just ignore those, and buy what we want :)

Can't argue with that, and besides, i like gardening and keeping fish. Thinks it's pretty cool to have a store that has both. Wish i can do something like that someday.

I know what you mean... Basically all of our fish stores are on the backend of garden centres. Maybe you just got to chill a bit lol, and listen to the little kid pointing at dori and banging on the glass. :irked:

I know what you mean, we had a 6 month old Oscar donated to us at work cause she had outgrown her tank and for 4 months (untill she sold) all you heard look at this giant fish blah blah blah... I was like jeez if this people actually saw a giant fish they would think it was a whale.... MFKS yay! :)

actually some of the best LFS's in the UK are attached to garden centres like croft, maidenhead and even wildwoods to a certain extent.

lol we have a shop here in Bourne End and it is attatched to a garden centre. The poeple there hate EVERYBODY. They always assume you don't know anything about what you are buying. You can't buy a fish until they've checked your criminal record and frisked you. It's like damn man you know this is a £1.50 goldfish I'm buying right? That gets to me, buying fish there is such a hassle, it isn't fun at all.

better like that than the other way. Although I have had them give me plenty of wrong information before, and getting fussy when i corrected them. This is when they told me I'd need a tank at such and such a size, when I then told them it would actually have to be a lot more than that. Ornates are different to senegals... least one of us learnt something that day. :)
