I've got a couple of outdoor ponds setting up for some aquatic turtles since I get a lot of those in.
My question is in regards to potential winter housing options...
Would galvanized stock tanks be safe for use with aquatic turtles (sliders, painteds, etc.) My first thought was maybe not due to the metal, but I figured I'd ask and see if anyone else has used these for that purpose. I need to set up some larger tanks INDOORS for when it gets cold (as it tends to do up here in New England) and the galvanized ones are just SOOO much cheaper compared to the rubbermaid ones (though I will go with those if that is safer)
Thoughts?

If it is safe for drinking water for live stock, I would assume it would also be safe for turtles.

I've used them. I think they might eventually show some corrosion but if you're just using them for winter quarters that should be much less of an issue.
