Aquatop cf-500uv

Just purchased one of these from my lfs for my growout 55 going from a hob to this but gonna switch my substrate from gravel to black diamond sand. Any suggestions?

Here ya go.. The noise I had commented on in that post ended up being a small piece of the biomax rattling next to the impeller. It is completely quiet once again.

i have the same filter with sand substrate no problems with it. other than on the filter the self priming pump on the filter does not work

Mine works sometimes while empty. I usually just fill the water to the top basket then the prime pump works great.

Thanks for all your input. Prob gonna wait til the am to set it up tho on my way back from working in Franklin In. and it's been a long week. Post pics later tho.

In the process of cleaning the black diamond substrate it is more time consuming that I thought it would be but gotta make sure its clean cause it is some dirty $!@#. Hopefully it'll all pay off tho and my tank looks awesome!!!
