Aqueon circulation pump 950 problem

I have one of these guys laying around, they do an amazing job of circulation but the one that I have keeps randomly cutting out.
The impeller itself seems to be getting snagged on something.
Any ideas what could be wrong? I can take it to pieces and attempt to troubleshoot it if someone has had experience with them

I would say take it out and clean the magnet part (the impeller rod and the spot that impeller magnet goes into), it's should be fine unless the motor part is giving up.

The impeller itself seems to be catching on the casing., I took it to pieces its just a housing, a cavity and then the impeller.
the long metal rod through the impeller seems to be jumping around

Yeah, mine gave me trouble to. Did you find a small ceramic ring? That is a spacer that lets the impeller avoid catching on the housing. It falls out way to easy during maintenance. I retired mine since it couldn't handle any plant matter either

yeah I realized that too with the plant matter. I obviously have lost the ring as I cant find it anywhere.

I might just give up on fixing it. Is there any DIY fix for the lack of ceramic ring?
