I got a aqueon tl200 heater with my fish tank and all of the websites i looked at said that they are submerisble but in every pic i see there is the maxium water lvl line and mine has that too so is this a submersible heater or not

I have 2x200 watt myself and they are all under water atm. Had them for about 2 months fully submersed. I also have 2 jager that has the same thing. I believe it's made so people know which part of the heater can stick out of the tank when doing water chages and if you want an easier access to the knob.

I think it's a liability thing. It should be fine submersed, but just in case they don't want to tell you that and be liable if something bad does happen. I can't vouch for the Aqueons, but I have a Jager that's been fully submerged for a couple years with no problems at all
