I bought this filter last night and set it up this morning. The mortar turns on and moves but it's not picking up water for some reason. I've tried taking the mortar, submerging it, then turning it on and it wouldn't move any water. I've tried moving the propeller manually to see if something was jamming it but the propeller moved just fine.
Aqueon Quiet Flow 75, ON but won't pump water.

they have this issue. plug it in, disconnect the motor housing from the filter housing and either give it a few good taps on the side of your tank or spin the impeller until it starts on its own.
both of mine do it from time to time. usually a good wack on the tank or table does it.
