with all the competing products being priced competitively I really feel that service makes the difference. here is my aqueon story: I won a 950 unit on eBay for under $20 including shipping to Alaska! after getting my pump I noticed it seemed to "rattle" I contacted aqueon's customer service and he quickly sent me out some new bushings to see if that helped. when I told him it didn't he then sent me out a brand new unit! I don't know if any of you have similar experiences with this company or others but that is the way to win life long customers!

My aqueon heater had water in it the first day. I contacted customer support and they said its not normal so they sent me a new one. My new one still has a ton of water in it so i contacted them again. They sent me another one which got water in it again lol. I threw it away since it was pretty dangerous.

Aqueon powerheads are the one thing they make that I don't like. They always seem to move much less water than a similarly rated powerhead from the other manufacturers that I've tried.

for the price/quality I find them to do a decent job... my titanium def outdoes their heaters.. but for a "average hobbyist" I find their products and service to be above average... as the old adage goes. you get what you pay for... I like them for back-ups ect... but I've had to replace a few of their products ( lifetime warranty is great but if it frys/icepops your stock... not so great)

I don't trust them for my "main components" but they are cheap and decent enough I do keep a few of their heaters/filters around as back-ups.
