aquidins metae?

Bought this fish as a blue acara? Has a few tassely bite from the centre of the tail too?

Doesn't look like A. Metae to me. I'm not sure what it is.

Yeah i didnt see any pics of metae with the tassely bits... looks to be acara tho, i went through all the google suggested aquidens and metae is the closest, maybe a hybrid?
Starting to become a bit of a hobbie buying random fish just so i can go home and learn about them!-)

From the markings and the yellow throat, it could be Bujurquina vittata.

quite possibly, was the only one in the tank so must have come to the uk with the blue acara I guess... dunno how, maybe wild caught?

Edit: Missed southamerican1cichlids Bujurquina vittata suggestion definitely more likely to be Vittata based on eye color and that the black marking seems to start at the eye like the fish you pictured J.

maybe a firemouth cross a rivulatus... well its has the same sort of body shape as both in the second pic imo
