I want to do a cool aquascape using stuff like rocks, clay, dirt, plants and stuff like that is a small tank around 10-20 gallons. Anyone have any ideas on what to do, some pics would help. I’m newer to aquascaping so I don’t want to anything that has plants that are too hard to take care of.

Terra-cotta pot, let it grow algae, then attach some moss to it. It should give an interesting old look to it.

The aquarium section on Pinterest, has loads of small tank aquascape ideas and photographs.
Cool is very subjective.
I like my tanks to look like natural overgrown jungles depending on what species I keep.

I was was keeping rift lake Africans, I might want a predominant rock scape,
Or riverine Madagascans, lots of sunken logs

or if I was keeping Geophagines I might want a very sandy Amazon river scape.

What fish would u recommend for a 10 or 20 gallon?

If you want ideas check out some of the aquascaping contest entries or check out the late great Takashi Amanos work...

Coz as said above, its very subjective what people like, so look at different sources to get ideas...

For tanks of those sizes, nothing over an inch or 2, species such as small tetras like neons, or Killi fish, or
some of the smaller wild type Betta's would also work.

above, Gulares killifish.
Below Betta albimarginatta.

above Lemon tetra, small live bearers work in a tank that size
Below Xenotoca eiseni

All the above are plant friendly, so the ability aquas cape with any interesting plants is only dependent oh the extent of lights you intend to use, and type tap water you have available.

Google nano aquascape.
Fish done to death but for good reason......
Cpd, ember tetra, axelrodi neon blue/green(not sure on spelling lol) fire line danio, gold ring danio, search other nano fish.
