I recently added some live plants to my 180 gallon and it's lined with Aragonite for the substrate....

Any tips or concerns from expereince with aragonite and live plants?

Plants are Anubias and Vallisineria.... It's been about 5 days and I'm not really noticing any "death" yet. But I've noticed some fo the Vals blades are floating, most likely from being bit off by my Tropheus!

Once again, just looking fro some tips to make surethat these things root and grow properly. You can find the build log link of the 180 gallon in my sig. Plant pics were added on the last page.

The Tank has been established for about month or more and I have 45 juvinle tropheus and a golden nugget pleco with 2 FX5's on the tank. As well as a 48" HO Coralife Fixture with 1 18k bulb and a Roseline Bulb.

Thanks in advance!:D

I don't know too much about your question, but anubias don't like to be planted in any substrate, instead they do better mounted to rock or wood. Also, tropheous will eat most plants. Hope this helps.

I'm sure you'll get better and more concise answers soon!

I have my Anubias Plants right into the Aragonite substrate and they seem to be doing fine so far and are not being picked at...

I have noticed some nibbling, but only on the Vals... I'm just trying to figure out if the plants will do better in the substrate or potted. my Aragonite is not deep enough for potted plants...

Yeah, my anubias are fine so far. Can't really tell if they are growing though. The Vallisineria are growing quite well but they are being picked at, I believe in the early morning before I feed the tank. but i keep nitcing new blades growing so that must be good. I have a my lights on for about a good 12-13hours / day.
