I currently have a FW 35G setup with African Cichlids.

I currently use a white sand substrate. I'm finding it difficult to do water changes and clean the sand as it easily gets sucked up (using a python no-spill).
I really like the white sand color, but it too easily gets sucked up when I do water changes or substrate cleaning. I'm considering changing to a white Aragonite because it's similar in color and much heavier. (and the added bonus I can use it in the future if I switch to SW).
From my understanding this is used primarily for SW/reef setups. I was wondering if this would be ok for my cichlids/FW setup.
(Hopefully in a week I'll be upgrading to a 90G.)
