Thanks guys, I wasn't trying to be modest, I know it comes off that way, but I'm really trying to push myself to reach pro level. I was happy I caught the yawn backlit.... total luck.
The background is the part I photoshopped. It is possible to get an all black background by using overhead flash, and a fast shutter speed, but this shot was taken in a grow-out tank and there was a lot of particulates visible in the original pic.
I used the smart edge refiner tool to select the outline of the fish, then created a new layer solid black background.
