Arapaima Gigas

Hi!
We have tre Arapaima Gigas, about 10-13 cm long. We have had them for about a month and when they arrived they were about 8 cm... how fast will they grow?

u just answered your own question! also GET RID OF EM! trust me unless you have a pond/tank with ATLEAST 10,000 gal. you wont be able to house 1, much less 3!! sorry to be an ass but its the truth.

its not a case that we dont like them ,ha if i had a oceanarium to house them i would have them....look at this and say that would fit in a normal tank

If you're asking how fast they grow, anyone looking at this thread would assume you didn't do your research prior to purchasing. So there's really no need to be so snappy! Also, it may not be fair, but most of these fish, as well as other monsters, never get the 'gigantic' tank or pond that their owner intends, due to a variety of reasons. Most of the people on this site know this, and so they discourage people who don't even know how fast a fish grows from buying the fish, until the research has been done. No one is trying to be mean.

Mine are 4 years old in October and are about 5 to 5 1/2 feet long. They were between 13 and 15 cm when I got them

Your growth rate will depend very much on what and the amount you are feeding them, their tank size and filtration.

What size tank are they in now?
Do they have tank mates?
What size tank will they be in when they reach 4 to 5 feet?
