When I get my own house, I want a indoor pond, The pond will be 35' by 35' by 8' tall. It is about 54,000 gallons it will be made out of concrete, and I want a drain in the middle. For filters I will get five of the hugwe ones in Dr. Foster and Smith
For lighting it will be in a 40 by 40 by 20 foot high room and the ceiling will have eight 4foot by four foot sky lights and track lighting, and for a heater I am going to have the room with the pond heated with an house heater @ 82 degrees, so the water should be 82 degrees too right?I am also going to have two six foot by six foot acrylic viewing pannels. Is this okay? how much will the setup cost (Estimate)

1 Millllllliiiiiiion Dollars :)

The tank will likely be around 78 degrees if you keep the room at 82. Invest in an XL in-line heater.

I was also thinking about building a wooden frame, and then putting in a pond liner. or also getting a 24 foot diameter pool at walmart. how big do they get in captivity? because I know that they are 12+ feet in the wild. My Friend who works at the toledo zoo has a n eight foot arapima in one of the tanks at the zoo, so Ill ask him for info about care and feeding also.

I also have that dream.

Don't forget ventilation. A pond that size indoors with no lid will lose a lot of water to evaporation. If the room is not well ventilated, you will soon have issues with mold.

I have never seen any aripima at the toledo zoo. Do you kno what exihbit they are in?

well aleast you will be able to charge people to get in?

I hope your first job pays enough to make you an instant millionaire. Just how many houses do you see in an average middle-class neighborhood with 36ft x 36ft rooms? My last house had a 36' x 30' family room and that was because we built a room over the 2-car garage. Nice size for a big tank but not possible on a second floor.
If a fish grows to an average size of 12ft in the wild, chances are it will grow larger in captivity. Take a look around the 'net at sites all over the world. The latest improvements in filtration, foods, medicines, and level of knowledge are having a huge impact on the quality, size, and longevity of the fish we keep.
I hope your dream comes true. Until then, I'd keep the pima idea on the back burner until the dream becomes a reality.

Oh... don't plan around multiple filters to add up to what is best for your setup. Get yourself catalogs from more than one mail-order supplier. Here's a start for commercial size filtration: aquaticeco.com
