Hi I have a baby pima, about 7". He has recently lost his appetite and seems to have something irritating his gills. He will stretch his mouth and often will pop his mouth-like he is trying to eat something- in the open water. I have treated the tank with prazi-pro about three days ago and just yesterday did a 50% water change and he is still doing it and swimming around very lazy like. What do you think he has and what should I do? Thank you.

i had some baby arapaima around 4 of them until i sold it. i had them with 11 datnoids. it happened to me also. but they did not loose their craving for chassing feeders. but the 1st day i joined them with my dats (i did not have any Q-tank) i treated the tank with fungus clear by jungle for 2 days. never had any problem but saw them doing the same thing... opening their mouth regularly.
can't really say anything about it but i think its nothing major. only my opinion.. only had the pimas for 2 weeks.
