You could grow one out in a 500 gallon for a year or two and then you need a big tank/pond. I do not think 10,000 gallons would do one justice for more than 4 or 5 years. Not a fish to consider lightly! If you have the means to keep one i would subcribe in a second!

Ive been looking around for a Pima myself for quite sometime now. There used to be a place online that got them in semi-frequently however they were shut down due to illegal sales I believe.

You'll need to start bigger, but you have the right idea. Generally accepted starting grow out pool is 650-700 gallons or so. My last arapaima was 6 feet long at two years old.

i just read a thread about someone in the uk looking to get rid of one. check the marketplace

fella had 2 for sale a few days ago on aquarist classified, they are 24" long i think he was looking about £300 each.

pimas are obtainable like every other fish- just have find the right supplier/store though like some fish that's hard to come by.

Cash talks too. Show the cash and people will come to you.
