I work at an LFS. I just started a couple weeks ago. In San Diego.

We have a baby Arapima for sale for $199. (i dont know if thats expensive for an Arapima)

But I do know that he needs a good home to go to.

(By the way, unless you have or will SOON have an Aquarium the size of New Jersey... please dont bother with this fish)

Basically the owner saw him for sale at a fish market in Mexico (or something).
He didnt want him to get eaten, so he took him back with him.
(at least i think that's the story)

He doesnt order these to sell. This is the only one.

Right now he's kind of thin and scared and needs a big tank with lots of room to grow. I'm currenty trying to put weight on him. Which seems to be working.

So if any of you Arapima owners out there have room for another. We have one that needs you.

Once again. Its not MY fish. I can't ship it. And the store is in San Diego.
It's called Fish Haven. It's in Escondido.

I'll get a picture with my phone today at work. Then i'll post it either at lunch or after work today.

200 is not bad, but at aquatic warehouse they had a nice nice healthy arapaima with papers fo 100, but i kno of others that sell them for even less then that, if i had the space i'd snag it up. maybe after i build a pond out of my entire garage.

I just want him to get a home.

I feel so bad that he is always so scared with all the people that come in and I just wish I had a heated lake in my backyard.

Where is ArapiamaG when you need him?

I visit your store fairly often, I like your set up.. good luck on the arapaima. you folks have the biggest gourami I ever saw. Store owner told me it was the very first fish he rec'd when he first opened up for business.

that price is expensive for that fish man.
I saw some people in this forum sell that fish with better prices.
Still, even the fish need a home, it must be at a reasonable price for people to buy him.

(I'm assuming 6"-8" TL .... price seems a bit high to me also)

Again.

I cannot lower the price. It's not MY store. I just work there. I figured it was high. But still have hope someone will buy him regardless.

He's very small. By Arapaima standards. He's about 8-10". Max
