Hello everyone,
I was wondering if I could keep both my red eared slider turtles with a 6 inch Aravana ? I'm not much worried about the large one because it's about 25 cm long but the other is about 5-6 cm long.

But since the Aravana has still not reached its adulthood, it could get used to them after some time right? The turtles wouldn't do anything to them, I'm sure of that since I most of the time feed them fish pellets. Anyway they stay with my 23 cm oscar,4 inch red tail shark, two 15 cm marble catfish, one 25-27cm sailfin pleco and another 6-7cm pleco ,three 20cm pangasius(or Mekong ,I'm not too sure) and my larger 37-40cm pangasius catfish without a single problem.

Thanks for the feedback.
Since arowanas normally dwell in the surface ,do you think that they need deep waters? They wouldn't mind being in shallow waters would they?

How shallow? And what size is your tank?
I would generally say "no" to turtle and fish, because if a turtle wants it can take a chunk out. But if your turtles don't bother the rest of the fish, I don't see why they would bother the arowana. Though, for the stock mentioned, you would need a huge tank.

I would say yes that is going to be too shallow for the arowana once it is larger. They get very thick, they would barely be covered in water. And the pond is very small at 280 gallons and already packed with fish.

No need to worry about that. My red ears are used to fish food pellets and I've never given them any sort of meat. Besides they've lived in the pond with the others for several years.
